1 tablespoon butter
1 tablespoon flour
1/8 tsp. salt
1/2 cup milk

Directions:
Directions:
Melt butter and stir in flour and salt. Gradually stir in 1/2 cup milk. Heat to a rolling boil while stirring constantly. When becomes a little thick pour over hot vegetables. For a richer sauce, use cream in place of the milk.

If you want a cheese sauce--make the sauce as described above. Add 1/3 cup grated cheddar cheese. Reheat sauce over low heat if necessary to melt the cheese.
