2 baked pie shells, cooled
1 quart strawberries, washed and dried on paper towel
1 cup milk
1 egg, beaten
2 tablespoons white sugar
1 1/2 tablespoons cornstarch
1 teaspoon butter
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup white sugar
7 teaspoons cornstarch
Dash salt
3 tablespoons strawberry jello, dry or nutra-sweet jello

Directions:

Mix 2 tablespoons sugar, 1 1/2 tablespoons cornstarch and add to milk and beaten egg. Cook until it thickens, then beat until lumpy. Add butter and vanilla. Cool before putting in shells. Mix 1 cup sugar, 7 teaspoons cornstarch and salt thoroughly. Then add jello. Stir until dissolved. Let cool, then add strawberries. Pour over the custard in the pie shells. Refrigerate.Serves 6.
