Ingredients:
Ingredients:
2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
6 T. butter, softened
1/2 c. dark brown sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs
1 1/2 c. mashed banana (about 3 bananas)
1/2 c. sour cream or whole milk plain yogurt
1 c. (or more) high quality chocolate chips (I like Ghirardelli's)
Turbinado sugar (raw sugar) to sprinkle on top

Directions:
Directions:
Stir together dry ingredients and set aside. Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs and vanilla. Mix in bananas and sour cream, then fold in flour mixture. When flour is almost completely mixed in, add chocolate chips. Finish stirring just until combined.

Spoon batter into muffin cups (makes about 14), filling each cup to the top. Sprinkle tops generously with turbinado sugar. Bake at 375º for 15 to 20 minutes or until centers spring back when touched. Remove from oven and turn heat to broil. Let muffin tops brown under broiler for 1 to 2 minutes. Serve warm.

Personal Notes:
These are so yummy! Don't skip the turbinado sugar, it makes a big difference. Broiling the muffins at the end of baking caramelizes the sugar and gives the tops a great crunch.
