1 cup nuts, chopped
1 cup white sugar
2 cups flour
1 teaspoon cloves
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon all spice
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup raw persimmon, cut up
1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
2 eggs
1 cup milk
1/4 cup shortening

Directions:

Mix together. Bake 30 minutes to one hour in two floured and greased bread pans at 350 degrees.

***Glaze (optional)***
1 cup orange marmalade
1/4 cup hot water

Mix glaze and pour over cake as it cools.
