TWO CUPS BROWN SUGAR, PACKED
TWO EGGS
1/2 cups butter
3 cups white flour
1 cup black walnuts,chopped
1 cup dates or raisins
1 teaspoon baking soda
2 tablespoons warm water
1 teaspoon vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter. Add brown sugar, then eggs, beating after each addition. Next add flour and mix well. Add nuts, raisins or dates and vanilla. Finally add baking soda which been dissolved in the warm water. Make into a roll, cover and let stand in the refrigerator overnight or until well chilled. Cut into thin sections and bake in greased pan as you would any cookie. Bake in 350 degree oven for 12-15 minutes(the longer you bake, the crisper the cookie). Cut thicker sections for fatter cookies.
