3 cups flour
3 cups white sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
3/4 pound butter
6 tablespoons cocoa
1 1/2 cups water
3 eggs, beaten
3/4 CUP BUTTERMILK(CAN SUBSTITUTE MILK WITH SOME LEMON JUICE TO SOUR IT)
ONE AND ONE HALF TEASPOON VANILLA

ICING:
1/4 POUND BUTTER
4 TABLESPOONS COCOA
SIX TABLESPOONS BUTTERMILK(SUB AS ABOVE)
ONE POUND POWDERED SUGAR
ONE TEASPOON VANILLA
ONE AND 1/2 CUPS CHOPPED NUTS

Directions:
Sift together flour, sugar and soda. Bring the butter, cocoa and water to a boil and add to the flour mixture. Mix together the eggs(beaten), buttermilk and vanilla and add to the four mixture. Pour into a greased and floured 11x17 jelly roll pan. Bake about 25 minutes at 350 degrees.

ICING:
MELT BUTTER AND MIX IN COCOA AND BUTTERMILK. BRING TO A BOIL. REMOVE FROM HEAT AND ADD POWDERED SUGAR, VANILLA AND NUTS. BEAT AND POUR OVER CAKE, ICING SMOOTHLY
