5 lb round roast
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
1 clove garlic cut into slices
1 tsp thyme
1/3 cup Italian dressing
1 cup red wine
1 bay leaf

Directions:
Directions:
Day before: wipe roast with damp paper towels. Make 8 slits 1 inch deep across the top of the meat. Insert a slice of garlic into each slit. Rub surface with salt,pepper and thyme. Place in a shallow baking dish. Make marinade of dressing, wine and crumbled bay leaf. Pour over the meat, cover and refrigerate over night. Turn meat a few times in marinade. Remove from marinade to roast. Bake at 450º for 45 minutes ( rare) or longer for desired outcome.
