1 cup butter, softened
2 cups sugar
2 eggs
3 1/2 cups, flour sifted
4 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon lemon extract
1 teaspon vanilla extract

Directions:
Directions:
In a large mixing bowl, gradually cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs and beat thoroughly. Sift flour once and measure. Add baking powder and salt to sifted flour and sift again. Add dry ingredients to creamed mixture and mix well. Blend in vanilla and lemon extracts. Shape dough into a ball, wrap in waxed paper, and chill thoroughly. Working in small batches, roll out dough thinly and cut into desired shapes with floured cookie cutters. Place on ungreased cookie sheets and bake in a preheated 400 degrees oven about 6 minutes.
