2 sticks soft butter
1/2 cup vegetable shortening
3 cups sugar
3 1/3 cups cake flour
1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/8 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons vanilla
5 eggs

Directions:
Directions:
Cream together butter and shortening. Add sugar and cream until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time. Sift cake flour, baking powder, and salt. Add alternately with 1 cup milk, starting and ending with flour. Add vanilla. Pour into greased and floured tube pan. Bake 1 hour and 15 minutes at 300 degrees or until done (I usually bake a little longer).
