1 c. Crisco or other shortening
2 c. Sugar
2 1/2 c. Sifted Plain Flour
1/2 c. Sifted Self-Rising Flour
1 c. Sweet Milk
4 Eggs
1 tbsp. Flavoring (Optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Combine Sifted Self-Rising Flour with Sifted Plain Flour.

Cream Shortening and Sugar on High Speed for 7 to 10 minutes.

Add Eggs and beat at Same Speed for 1 minute.

Add 1 c. of Flour Mixture and beat on Medium Speed for 1 minute.

Add Remainder of Flour Mixture and Sweet Milk Alternatively, and beat until well mixed.

Add Flavoring of your choice.

Spray Baker's Spray to cover cake pan, then pour in cake mixture.



Bake for 1 hour at 325º.

After 1 hour has passed, increase temperature to 350º, and bake for an additional 15 to 20 minutes.


(Medium Speed = 4 to 6 Setting on Some Mixers)
(High Speed = 7 to 9 Setting on Some Mixers)
