Texas Sheet Cake Recipe

2 c. flour
2 c. sugar
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 c. sour cream
2 eggs
1/2 tsp. salt
2 sticks of butter
1 c. water
4 tbsp. cocoa

Frosting:
1 1lb. box of powdered sugar
4 tbsp. cocoa
1 tsp vanilla
6 tbsp milk
1 stick of butter
1 c. chopped pecans (optional)

Directions:

Preheat oven to 375º

Spray Jelly roll pan with non-stick spray.

In bowl mix first 6 ingredients well together.
In saucepan, boil 2 sticks of butter, 1 c. of water, and 4 tbsp of cocoa. Add boiled mixture to bowl mixture. Stir well. Pour into jelly roll pan and bake for 20 min.

Prepare frosting.

Remove cake from oven and let cool for a minute or too. Add frosting on top of VERY warm (not HOT) cake. As the frosting starts to melt, spread evenly over cake. As the cake cools, the frosting with harden up slightly.

I remember this recipe from a long time ago!! Every time I have made this, EVERYONE loves it!! You can use a cookie sheet if you want. I use a jelly roll pan since it is deeper than a cookie sheet. The frosting tends to melt off the side of a cookie sheet.
