1 c sugar
2 eggs 1 c molasses
1 c butter/Crisco mix
1 Tbsp. baking soda
1/2 c hot water
1 tsp vanilla
small tsp ginger
1/2 tsp. salt
flour to thickness (almost 7 cups)
additional sugar for topping

Directions:
Directions:
Heat and melt molasses and butter/Crisco mix. Let cool. Add all ingredients, including molasses mixture, in large bowl. Dissolve baking soda in hot water prior to adding. Add flour for desired thickness, should be firm enough to roll out. Roll with rolling pin on floured surface, cut with cookie cutter. Bake 8 minutes at 350º. Melt a bit of butter, brush onto cooled cookie, and sprinkle with sugar.
