1 1/2 cups yellow cornmeal
1 heaping T. flour
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. soda
1 cup buttermilk
2/3 cup salad oil
2 eggs, beaten
1 small can cream style corn (optional)
3-6 jalapeños, chopped
1/2 green pepper, chopped
4-5 green onions, chopped
1 1/2 cup grated cheddar cheese

Preheat oven to 375º.
Mix cornmeal, flour, salt and soda in medium size bowl.
Add buttermilk, oil, eggs, and corn; mixing well.
Stir in jalapeños, green pepper and onions.
Grease 9" x 13" baking dish with butter or bacon
grease; pour in half of batter; sprinkle with half of Cheddar cheese; repeat.
Bake at 375º for 35 minutes.
