6 medium sized sweet potatoes
1 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup butter
1/4 cup water
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. ground cinnamon
1 pinch ground cloves
1 pinch ground nutmeg
1-2 large tart apples
6 ounces fresh cranberries, washed
1 cup pecans or 1 cup walnuts

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350º.
Scrub the potatoes with a vegetable brush and boil them in their jackets uncovered for 30 minutes,
or until fork tender.
Drain, peel, cut in 2" thick rounds.
In a pot, boil sugar, butter, water, salt, cinnamon, cloves and nutmeg, stirring well for 5 minutes.
Arrange potatoes in a 9"x13" dish, sprayed with
cooking oil (Pam).
Add peeled, cored, slices apples.
Tuck in nuts and fresh cranberries among nuts and apples.
Pour syrup over the top.
Cover; bake at 350º for 30 minutes.
