1 1/4 c. flour.
3/4 c. cornmeal.
1/4 c. sugar.
3 tsp. baking powder.
1 tsp. dried basil leaves.
1 tsp. dried parsley flakes.
1/2 tsp. salt.
3/4 c. margarine or butter.
1/2 c. shredded carrot.
1/3 c. milk.
1 egg slightly beaten.

Heat oven to 400 degrees. In medium bowl, combine flour, cornmeal, sugar, baking powder, bsil, parsley flakes and salt; mix well. With pastry blender or fork, cut in margarine until mixture resembles course crumbs. stir in carrot.
Add milk and egg: stir just until dry ingredients are moistended. To form each biscuit, drop 1/4 c, of dough onto ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake at 400 degrees for 12-14 minutes or until light golden brown.
