2 lb ground beef
2 chopped onions
1 head of cabbage grated or chopped; or, 1 large can of sauerkraut drained.
1 t salt
2 t pepper
Bread dough or 2 pkg of Rhodes dinner rolls, frozen.

Oil cooking sheets. Place Rhodes rolls on sheets and cover with plastic wrap and thaw according to pkg directions.

Brown beef, drain. Add onions and cabbage (or sauerkraut), salt and pepper in Dutch oven, cover and simmer for at least 30 min (till vegetables are tender).

Let cool to room temperature, then drain. Flatten each roll with your hands and put a about 2 heaping tablespoons in the center of each flattened roll. Take up all edges and pinch them together at the center. Turn over on baking sheet (so it looks like a bun). Bake at 375 º following roll pkg instructions. When finished remove from oven and brush with butter and allow to cool.

These freeze well on a cookie sheet. Then put in a large zip-top freezer bag. We just warm them in the microwave - two at a time.

Lori and Mike's other grandma gave me this recipe when Lori was just a baby. I've been making them ever since.
