1 pkg dry yeast
1/2 cup warm water
4 T sugar
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 cup shortening
1/2 cup scalded milk
1 egg
2 3/4-3 cups flour

Directions:
Directions:
Soften yeast in warm water & 1 tsp. sugar. In mixing sugar, combine sugar, salt, shortening, & milk. Cool to lukewarm, stir in eggs & yeast. Gradually add flour to form a stiff dough, beating well after each addition. Cover bowl & let rest for 15 minutes. Then toss dough onto well floured surface & knead til no longer sticky. Divide into 12 portions. Shape into hamburger or hotdog buns. Place on greased cookie sheet, let rise in warm place til doubles about 45-60 minutes. Bake At 400º for 12-15 minutes
