1 c. sugar
1/2 c. butter or margarine, softened
3 or 4 ripe bananas (1.5 c. mashed)
2 eggs
2 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. vanilla (optional)
1/2 c. chopped nuts (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º. Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs and beat. Add mashed bananas and then flour that has been sifted with the soda. Add vanilla and chopped nuts. Bake in greased and floured loaf pan for 1 hr 15 minutes. For two cake pans or muffins, bake 25-30 minutes.
