one pound French (or Italian) bread, cut into one inch squares.
one 8-ounce cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup sugar
2 cups frozen (blueberries, raspberries, etc.)
Note: Fruit may be used in combination
8 eggs
21/2 cups milk
6 Tbsp. melted butter
1/4 cup maple syrup

Directions:

Place half of the bread cubes in the bottom of a 9 x13 pan sprayed with coating.
Soften cream cheese in the microwave and add sugar. Blend well. Dot the cream cheese on the top of the bread cubes and spread slightly.
Layer fruit evenly and then top with remaining bread cubes and press down gently.
Mix the eggs, milk melted butter and syrup and pour over casserole.
Refrigerate overnight. Bake at 325 degrees for 11/4 to 11/2 hours.Let set for 10 minutes. Top with toasted slivered almonds and serve with whipped cream and/or maple syrup.
