6 cloves garlic, mashed
1 whole onion, chopped
2 T olive oil
4 28-oz. can crushed tomatoes with basil
parsley
sweet basil
oregano
salt
pepper
1/2 tsp sugar
1 6-oz can tomato paste

Directions:
Directions:
Saute garlic and onions in the oil. Add can of tomato paste. Coarsely grind pepper into pan. Add a handful of fresh basil, parsley and oregano. Add tomatoes and sugar. Cook down.

This recipe was originally in the D'Argenio Family Traditions Cookbook by Emilio D'Argenio (the younger)!
Doug modified and triples the recipe on Sunday afternoons for us to eat and freeze. He says the key is using fresh herbs!
