1 1/2 c sugar
1 c buttermilk
1 c oil
3 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
2 c plain flour
1 tsp salt, baking soda, and cinnamon
1 c black berry jam (seedless)
1 c pecans

Caramel Icing
1/2 c butter
1/2 c evaporated milk ( in a can)
1 c brown sugar
Bring to a boil stirring constantly for 2-3 min
Pour into a mixing bowl and use a mixer
Add
2 c powdered sugar a little at a time
If it is too thick add 1 -2 tsp milk
Spread over cooled cake

Mix eggs, sugar, buttermilk, oil,and vanilla. Sift dry ingredients and add to first mixture. Add jam and nuts. Bake in greased 9 x 13 cake pan at 350º for 40 - 45 min

This is the only recipe that Aunt Susan ever asked me for. A older lady gave it to me when I worked at the bank right out of high school. One of those really old cakes that tastes really moist.
