1 1/2 cup brown sugar
1 Cup Crisco
2/3 cup oleo
1 egg
1 sour milk
1 tsp salt
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp vanilla
2 cups flour
1 1/2 cups rhubarb diced fine
1/2 cup nuts

Topping

1/2 cup white sugar
1 Tsp cinnamon

Directions:

Mix together in order given- Cream shortening & egg with sugar. add sour milk & flour.
Mix together topping ingredients and sprinkle over batter.
Bake 350º for 30 minutes in 9 x13 greased pan

This is the recipe from Arlene Holst. Arlene makes this cake and takes 2-3 pans of cake up to Decorah for the Mulvihill Family reunion. The generations fight over (nicely) who can get the cakes first.
