8 c. thinly sliced potatoes
2 tsp. salt
4 T. flour
1/4 tsp. pepper
4 T. butter or margarine
3-3 1/2 c. milk or cream (fresh or sour can be used)
2 T. imitation bacon bits (or real)

Directions:
Directions:
Thoroughly rinse potatoes in cold water; drain. Melt butter in saucepan. Blend in flour, salt and pepper. Add milk and bacon bits. Stir and cook until thick. Place potatoes in greased casserole dish. Cover with white sauce. Bake uncovered at 350º in a 9x13" pan for 1 1/2 to 2 hours, until tender.

Note: I use bacon grease to grease pan. Leave potatoes in water until white sauce is made, then drain.
