2 c. flour
3 T. brown sugar
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. ground ginger
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 c. butter
1 egg beaten
1/3 c. molasses
1/4 c. milk
1 egg white, slightly beaten
coarse sugar optional

Directions:
Directions:
In a mixing bowl, combine flour, brown sugar, baking powder, spices, baking soda and salt. Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Make a well in center. In a small bowl stir together egg yolk, molasses and milk. Add all at once to flour mixture. Stir with a fork until combined. Mixture may be dry. Turn dough onto lightly floured surface and knead 15 times. Pat dough into 7 in. circle. Cut into 8 wedges and arrange on an ungreased cookie sheet 1 in. apart. Brush with egg white and sprinkle with coarse sugar.

Bake 375 º 12-15 minutes

Serve with Nutmeg whipped cream.

1 12oz. container of Cool Whip topping
1/8 tsp. nutmeg

Stir Cool Whip and nutmeg together in a bowl. Chill in refrigerator until ready to serve.
