2 c. unsifted all-purpose flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp. ground nutmeg
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. pumpkin
1 c. granulated sugar
1/2 c. milk
2 eggs
1/2 c. butter or margarine, softened
1/2 c. chopped nuts
Confectioners' sugar

Preheat oven to 350º. Grease a 9 x 5 x 3 inch loaf pan. On sheet of waxed paper, sift together flour, baking powder, soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt; set aside. In large bowl, combine pumpkin, sugar, milk, eggs, and butter; beat until well blended. Add flour mixture, beating just until smooth. Stir in nuts. Pour batter into prepared pan; bake 50 - 60 minutes, or until cake tester inserted in center comes out clean. Cool in pan 10 minutes. Remove from pan; cool completely on wire rack. Before serving, sprinkle with confectioners' sugar and cut into thin slices.
