Meat mixture
1 1/2 lbs. Hamburger
1/2 lbs. Pork sausage (Jimmy Dean or Owen's)
2 sl. Bread (wet)
1 Egg
2 tsp. Salt
1 tbl. Pepper
2 tbl. Parmesan cheese
1/2 c. Onions
1 Garlic clove

Tomato Sauce:
1 large can tomatoes strained
1 small can tomato paste
1 can tomato sauce
1 can water (large tomato can)
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. sweet basil
2 bay leaves
2 dashes garlic salt

Cheeses needed:
3 Cups Mozzarella Cheese
3 Packages of sliced Provolone Cheese
2 8 oz. packages of Philadelphia Cream Cheese (Light cream cheese can be substitued)

Directions:
Directions:
Brown all ingredients listed in the meat mixture. Once all brown then add the browned meat mixture to the tomato sauce ingredients.

1 large can tomatoes strained
1 small can tomato paste
1 can tomato sauce
1 can water (large tomato can)
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. sweet basil
2 bay leaves
2 dashes garlic salt

Cook slow for 2 hours and 15 minutes

Place lasagna strips (about 10 in salted water)
add 1 tbs. oil

In a large pyrex dish add 1 layer lasagna strips, 1/2 the above sauce, 1/2 pkg. Mozzarella cheese, 1/2 pkg. Provolone cheese, 1/2 pkg. (Large) philadelphia cream cheese (pinch in small pieces) , repeat above with remainder.

Cook 30 min. at 300º

Let stand for 30 min. Before eating.

Von gave me this recipe right after Robert and I were married. I made it for years, but it never tasted like Von's. Heather made it once and I told her that it tasted just like Von's. I never put the pork in because I didn't think it was important. PUT THE PORK in as it makes a big difference.
