1 cup boiling water
1 cup Nabisco 100% bran or Grape Nuts cereal
1/2 cup of shortening
1 1/2 cups of sugar
2 eggs
2 cups buttermilk
2 1/2 cups of flour
2 1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
2 cups Kellogg Original All-Bran

Pour the 1 cup boiling water over the 100% bran or Grape Nuts cereal. Set aside and cool thoroughly. Blend shortening, sugar, eggs, and buttermilk. Add dry ingredients (flour, baking soda and salt). Fold in the cooled 100% bran or Grape Nuts cereal. Last, fold in the All-Bran cereal.

Tightly cover and keep in the refrigerator. When ready to use dip (do not stir) mixture. Fill well-greased muffin tins 2/3 full. Bake at 400ºF for 15-20 minutes.

Mixture may become a slightly different shade and a bit watery around the edges. Mixture will keep in the refrigerator for up to 6 weeks.
