3 sticks of butter softened
1 box light brown sugar
1 C sugar
5 eggs
3 C flour (sifted)
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp vanilla
1 C milk
1 C chopped walnuts (optional)
Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter and sugars. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each. Sift dry ingredients together. Add them alternately with the milk. Add flavoring and nuts (if used). Pour into greased and floured tube pan. Bake 300º for 1 1/2 hours. Cool and turn out onto plate. Frost with brown sugar icing.
