1 CAN OF FRUIT - peaches, fruit cocktail, cherries, apricots, etc.
1 cup FLOUR
1 cup MILK
1/2 cup SUGAR (1 cup if using cherries)
4 teaspoons BAKING POWDER
1 teaspoons VANILLA
DASH SALT

Directions:
Directions:
Mix everything except the fruit. Pour into a baking dish that has been greased with BUTTER. Dab fruit on top of mixture. Bake at 350º for 30 minutes or until knife comes out clean. Great hot with ice cream or heavy cream poured on each serving.

Given to me by Mrs. Darrell Hord, who lived with her husband Darrell on a big ranch outside Santa Rosa, New Mexico. They were wonderful friends of my parents, B. U. and Jeanette Terry. I really loved them both and miss them dearly. She was a great cook! They were originally from the panhandle of Texas. Great for a busy day dessert!
