3 c. flour
1 c. butter, softened
2/3 c. powdered sugar
4 T. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
Small can of almond paste

GLAZE:
1 c. powdered sugar
5 tsp. milk
1/2 tsp. almond extract

Directions:
Directions:
Heat oven to 350º. Mix flour, butter, powdered sugar, milk and vanilla in a large bowl. Cut almond paste into 1/2 inch slices; cut each slice into fourths. Shape 1 inch ball of dough around each piece of almond paste. Gently roll to form a ball. Place about 1 inch a part on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 10 to 12 minutes or until set and bottom is golden brown. Remove from cookie sheet. Cool completely. Prepare glaze and dip in tops of cookies, sprinkle with colored sugar if desired.

delicious - while you may be tempted to make larger balls, the smaller ones are actually better. The cookie has become one of our traditional recipes made with Grandma, Connor, Mandee, and Carla. However, they are enjoyed by everyone in the Hoffman Family.
