6 cups bran
2 cups boiling water
1 cup oil
2 1/3 c sugar
4 eggs
1 qt buttermilk
5 cups flour
5 tsp soda
2 tsp salt

Directions:
Directions:
Pour water and oil over bran and mix, set aside. Mix other ingredients. Add bran and mix again. Fill muffin cups 3/4 full. Bake at 400º for 20 minutes. Batter keeps well in frig until you're ready to bake fresh muffins.

Can substitute 1 1/2 c honey + 1 1/2 c molasses for oil and sugar. 1 tbsp vinegar in 1 qt milk can be substituted for 1 qt buttermilk.
