1 cup milk
½ cup shortening
3 TBLS sugar
1-1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla
2 pkgs yeast
¼ cup lukewarm water
3 cups sifted flour
3 eggs
¾ cup finely chopped nuts
½ cup sugar
1 tsp cinnamon

Directions:
Directions:
Scald milk, combine with next 3 ingredients. Cool. Add vanilla & yeast dissolved in lukewarm water. Mix. Blend in 1-1/2 cup flour. Beat, cool and rest 15 minutes. Add eggs, one at a time. Blend in remaining flour and mix. Dough will be soft. Cover and let rise ½ hour. Combine last 3 ingredients. Divide dough in small pieces with tablespoon. Roll each in sugar nut mixture and stretch to about 8” long. Twist in desired shapes. Let rise until doubled. Bake in 375 degrees oven.
