1 Head Red Cabbage
2-3 Strips Bacon (to taste)
1/2 c. vinegar
1/2 c. water
salt and pepper to taste
2-3 chopped apples

Directions:
Directions:
Cube bacon and fry. Add 1/2 c. vinegar, 1/2 c. water, pepper and salt to taste. Bring mixture to boil add 1/2 c. sugar. Cut cabbage as for sauerkraut, add to mixture above. Cook very slowly for 2 hours. If it gets to dry add small amount of water. Add apples.
