4 c. brown sugar
1 c. crisco
2 eggs
1/2 c. sour milk
1 tbsp. soda
1 tbsp. cream of tartar
1 tbsp. vanilla
5-6 c. flour
Directions:
Directions:
Cream sugar and crisco. Add egg, sour milk and vanilla. Mix well. Add dry ingredients (a few cups at a time) to desired consistency. Chill in refrigerator.

Drop by teaspoon onto ungreased cookie sheet and bake at 375º for 8-10 min.

To make sour milk, add 1 tbsp. vinegar or lemon juice to milk.
