1 lb butter (1/2 butter & 1/2 marg is ok)
2 lb flour (abt 4 c)
1/2 c sugar
1 tsp salt

Directions:
Directions:
butter very soft stir in sugar & salt. Add flour 1c at a time w/hands. Keep working until mixture holds together and not curmbling. Maybe done in portions and worked in one ball later. Divide in 2 parts. Press on lightly floured board abt 1" thick or less. Cut in snall squares. Pirck with fork 3 times. Bake 300F 30 mins. Watch - should be pale in color. Time will depend on thickness of dough - also depends on amt of butter used. Let stand 10-14 days in air tight container for flavors to blend. They are good right way but even better after they have aged.
