1 cup pistachios, or Walnuts, chopped
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/4 cup honey
2 T water
Splash of fresh lemon juice(1/2-1 tsp)
dash salt

serve over vanilla ice cream

Directions:

Toast the nuts and cinnamon until toasty and fragrant. Add the remaining ingredients and gently boil until a syrupy consistency, about 3 minutes. Serve warm over ice cream and Enjoy! Opa!

When I first made this, I explained it to David, and he said "So, let me get this straight... it's the most delicious part of the baklava without all the annoying layers?" Yes. That is correct.
