A BIG BOWL FULL OF BREAD CRUMBS. SEE NOTE
4 CUPS MILK
1 1 /2 CUPS SUGAR
4 EGGS
2 TSP VANILLA
1 CUP WALNUTS OR PECANS, CHOPPED (OPTIONAL)
6 TBSP OLEO
CINNAMON

TOPPING:
2 TBSP CORN STARCH
1 CUP SUGAR
1 CUP WATER.
BOIL UNTIL THICK. REMOVE FROM HEAT, ADD 3/4 STICK OLEO AND 1 TSP VANILLA. STIR UNTIL OLEO HAS MELTED. POUR OVER TOP OF PUDDING

PUT BREAD INTO A 9X13 BAKING DISH. MIX MILK, EGGS, SUGAR AND VANILLA. POUR OVER BREAD, BEING SURE TO SOAK WELL. SPRINKLE TOP WITH CINNAMON AND PLACE OLEO PATS RANDOMLY ON TOP. BAKE AT 350º FOR 1 HR 15 MIN OR UNTIL PUFFED. LET COOL AND THEN ADD TOPPING.

I SAVE MY OLD STALE BREAD, BISCUITS, BUNS, ETC IN THE FREEZER UNTIL I GET A ZIPLOC BAG FULL AND THEN I MAKE THIS BREAD PUDDING.
