3 lbs. stewing beef, cut into very small pieces
2 medium onions chopped
1 cup celery chopped
2 carrots, cut into bite-size pieces
4 medium potatoes, peeled and cut into bite-size pieces
2 Tbs. tapioca
1 tsp. salt
Pepper to taste
1 cup tomato soup or juice
¾ cup water or wine

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 250 degrees. Put meat and vegetables in layers in roaster or large casserole and sprinkle with seasonings and tapioca. (Do not brown meat.) Add soup or juice to this and then water or wine. Cover top of pan with foil then put lid on tight. Cook 5 hours in oven. Will make its own gravy.
