Slice onions
Fresh sauerkraut
Chicken thighs or breasts or half broilers
Sherry
A sprinkling of caraway seeds
Half and half cream

Directions:
In a roomy baking dishe, arrange the sauerkraut, well drained, and top or layer with plenty of sliced onions. Place the chicken pieces on top and moisten the bottom of the dish by dashing on some sherry. Sprinkle with caqraway seeds and cover the dish. Bake long and slowly, at about 325 degrees F. for at about 1 to 1 ½ hours. Uncover for a time so that the chicken browns and crisps. If desired, transfer chicken to war serving platter, surround with the sauerkraut; prepare gravy with the juices in baking pan by adding half and half. Serve with mashed potatoes.

Personal Notes:
This is a Jewish recipe that I tried out on my family. They were NOT impressed; however, it is the one thing that they remember that I made for them. LOL
