Crust: 2 c. flour, 1 c. brown sugar-packed, 1/2 c. softened butter.
Caramel Layer: 2/3 c. butter, 1/2 c. brown sugar

1 c. whole pecan halves, 1 c. chocolate chips.

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In 3 qt. bowl, combine crust ingredients. Mix until particles are fine. (I use pastry blender). Pat firmly into ungreased 13 x 9 pan. Sprinkle pecan halves evenly over crust. Prepare caramel layer (see below). Pour evenly over pecans and crust. Bake near center of oven for 18-22 minutes or until caramel layer is bubbly and crust is light golden brown. Remove from oven. Immediately sprinkle with chocolate chips. Allow to melt slightly (2-3 minutes). Slightly swirl chips as they melt. Don't spread. Leave some whole for marbled effect.
Cut into 3-4 dozen bars.

Caramel Layer: In heavy saucepan combine brown sugar and butter. Cook over medium heat. Stir constantly, until surface of mixture begins o boil. Boil 1/2 to 1 minutes. Stir constantly.
