Death By Chocolate (Kahlua Truffle) Recipe

1 lg size cool whip
1 pkg devils food or chocolate cake mix
3 pkg instant chocolate pudding- mix as directed
1 cup kahlua
6 heath bars broken into small pieces

Prepare cake mix according to directions. Bake in 13x9 inch pan. Cool.

Poke holes in cake and pour kahlua evenly over top. Let cake soak for one hour.

First Layer: Cut 1/2 of cake into pieces and put into bottom of glass bowl or truffle dish.

Second Layer: Spread 1/2 of pudding over pieces of cake.

Third Layer: Spread 1/2 of cool whip over pudding.

Fourth Layer: Spread 1/2 of crushed heath bars

Repeat layers one more time. Cover and refrigerate for 6 hours.

When making this for the kids, I leave out the Kahlua.

We have made many different variations of this by using our favorite candy (Nestle crunch bars or M & M's).
