1 1/2 cups raisins
1 cup dark brown sugar
1 cup water
1/2 cup crisco
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/4 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. baking powder

Directions:
Directions:
Bring raisins, water, sugar, crisco, salt and spices to a boil while stirring. Boil 3 minutes and cool. Line a 8 1/2 x 4 1/2 pan with 2 layers wax paper. Stir baking soda into fruit. Sift flour and baking powder over fruit. Stir. Bake 300º 1 1/4 - 1 1/2 hours until pick inserted is clean. Cover with foil if too brown. Cool, peel off paper. Keeps for months in fridge!
