1/2 cup (1 stick) margarine or butter
2 squares (2 ozs) unsweetened chocolate
2 eggs, well beaten
1 T. light corn syrup
1 cup sugar
3/4 cup sifted all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup broken nutmeats

Directions:

Melt margarine and chocolate together over hot water (in a double boiler) and let cool. Beat eggs until light and beat in the corn syrup, sugar and the cooled chocolate mixture. Sift together the flour and baking powder and stir into first mixture. Stir in vanilla and nutmeats.

Spread in well-greased 8x8x2-inch pan. Bake in a moderate oven (350 degrees) 25 minutes or until top has a dull crust. Cool and cut into squares. Makes 16 2-inch squares.

And what are "nutmeats", you may ask????? I know......I know. It is the edible part of the nut. So pick your favorite nut and chop it up and put it in.......OR NOT!
