Ingredients:
Ingredients:
1/2 cup warm water (110 to 115 degrees), 2 pks active dry yeast, 1 1/2 cups lukewarm milk, 1/2 cup sugar, 2 tsp salt, 2 eggs, 1/2 cup soft shortening (Crisco), 5 to 7 cups of flour, 1 stick of margarine or butter, melted and poured into 2 dozen muffin tin cups.

Directions:
Directions:
Dissolve yeast in water in large mixing bowl. Warm milk to lulewarm, add shortening to milk to soften. Add to yeast along with the sugar, salt eggs and half of the flour. Mix with a spoon, until smooth. Add additional flour, 1/2 cup or so at a time, until a soft dough forms. Depending on the weather, the amount of flour may vary from 5 to 7 cups. You do not want the dough to become too dry and stiff. It will be slightly sticky when it is right. Grease hands and turn dough out onto floured wax paper or board and knead until smooth and elastic, about 5 minutes. Round up in a greased bowl and grease top of doughball. Cover with a damp towel and set in a warm place to rise. (about 85 degrees). Allow to double in size,(about 1 1/2 hours), punch down and allow to rise again,( about 30 minutes). Shape into desired roll shape and place into butter or margarine greased muffin cups. Place in warm place again and allow to rise to desired size, bake at 400 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes.

Personal Notes:
This same dough can be used to make a Christmas Swedish tea ring or cinnamon rolls. I often make half the dough into rolls and the other half into a Swedish tea ring.
