2 tbsp olive oil
1 large yellow onion chopped
2 large garlic cloves minced
1 1/2 lbs sweet turkey sausage casings removed
1 28 oz can crushed tomatoes ( i use Contadina)
1 6 oz can tomato paste
1 15 oz can tomato sauce
2 tbsp dried basil
1 1/2 tsp kosher salt
1/2 tsp black pepper coarse or medium grind
2 1/2- 3 tbsp sugar
cooked spaghetti noodles
grated parmesan cheese

Heat olive oil in a large Dutch oven or skillet. Add the onion and cook for 5 minutes over medium-low heat until translucent. Add the garlic and cook for 1 more minute. Add the turkey sausage and cook over medium-low heat, breaking it up with a fork, for 8-10 minutes until no longer pink. Add the crushed tomatoes, tomato sauce, tomato paste, basil, salt, pepper, and sugar. Simmer covered over medium-low heat for 20-25 minutes until thickened. Serve over cooked spaghetti noodles. Sprinkle each serving with parmesan cheese.

Easy to make into a baked spaghetti casserole. Spray a 9x13 inch casserole dish with non-stick cooking spray. Layer 1/3 sauce, 1/2 of the spaghetti, 1/2 of an 8oz package of shredded mozzarella cheese. Repeat the layers,ending with sauce. Sprinkle with parmesan and bake at 350 until hot and bubbling.
