2 lbs. ground beef
1 package sweet turkey sausage (remove from casing or browed then cut lengthwise to cook completely; sliced)
1 small package mushrooms (sliced)
2 - 14.5 oz cans of Italian stewed tomatoes (diced)
1 – 29 oz. or 28 oz.) can of tomato sauce
1 – 28 oz. crushed tomato puree
1 – onion (finely chopped)
4 – fresh tomatoes (blanched in hot water and peeled; diced)
5 – cloves of garlic (finely minced or crushed)
1 – small package of fresh basil (chopped)
2 Tbsp. fresh Thyme (finely minced)
1 – 2 sprigs of Rosemary (remove when sauce is cooked)
2 Tbsp fresh Sage (finely minced)
2 Tbsp fresh Italian Parsley (finely minced)
2 Tbsp. fresh Marjoram (finely minced)
1 Tbsp. regular Olive Oil (don’t use Extra Virgin Oil)
1 Tbsp. sugar
Salt & pepper to taste
Shredded Parmesan

In a skillet brown ground beef, add salt (1/4 tsp.) and pepper (1/8 tsp.) about 10 min. Drain any excess oil. Add turkey sausage if removed from casing. If not removed from casing then in a separate skillet brown turkey sausage, once browned then cut lengthwise to cook completely; drain on paper towel then slice in bite size pieces. In a large pot on medium heat, add 1 Tbsp. Olive oil then cook garlic and onion together (about 3 – 5 minutes) or until onion is translucent then add the fresh diced tomatoes, mushrooms, 2 cans of Italian stewed tomatoes, can of crushed tomato puree, can of tomato sauce and simmer sauce. Add the rest of the finely minced herbs, add the sugar and salt & pepper to taste. Simmer in low heat for 3 hrs.
