11/2c fresh basil leaves
2-5 garlic cloves, peeled
1/4c pine nuts
1/4c freshly grated Parmesan cheese
1/4c freshly squeezed lemon juice

Put basil, garlic, pine nits, and Parmesan in a blender or food processor. Turn machine on and drizzle in lemon juice. Continue to purée until smooth paste is formed.

Amount of garlic used is a matter of personal taste. Also you can freeze whatever you don't use. You only need a small amount to coat pasta because a little goes a long way.
