Ingredients:
Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups sugar
1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
3 large eggs
2 Tbsp. distilled white vinegar (I always preferred when Mom made it with apple cider vinegar)
1 tsp. pure vanilla extract
1 pie crust

Directions:
Directions:
Make a pie crust. Mom, (Mary Clonch Allison Caperton) always used the basic Crisco crust , but you can use a pre-made one, if you must cheat!)

Heat oven to 350º F.

Whisk sugar and melted butter in a medium bowl until well blended. Add remaining ingredients and blend well. (about 2 minutes) Pour into pie crust. Bake 50 minutes at 350º. Allow to cool, and then refrigerate. (will not completely become firm until refrigerated) Note: You should not double the batch. It will not turn out as well. If you are going to make 2 pies, then mix the filling separately.

Henry says: "My mom (Mary Clonch Allison Caperton) thought this recipe was lost, after her mother passed away. Finally, she found it and it is the best pie you will ever taste!"
