3 1/4 C flour
1tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 C shortening
1 1/2 C brown sugar
2 tsp vanilla
3 eggs
1 1/2 tsp hot water
1 pkg chocolate chips

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375º
mix eggs, cream together with shortening, brown sugar and vanilla. Combine dry ingredients in a bowl and add to creamed mixture, add hot water and stir in chocolate chips. Drop spoonfuls onto parchment paper on a baking sheet and bake 15 minutes. Cool on a cooling rack.

My mother in law made these spoon dropped chocolate chip cookies using her mother Minnie's recipe. They have a cakey texture, very yummy.
