3 Eggs
1 1/2 Cups buttermilk
1 1/4 Cups Flour
2 tsp. Baking Powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 Cup shortening

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat Waffle iron. Beat Eggs; beat in remaining ingredients until smooth. Pour a portion of the batter into the center of the hot waffle iron. Bake about five minutes or until steaming stops. Remove waffle and keep in a warmer until there are enough for everyone.
Serve with canned fruit topping or whipped cream.

Waffles were always a favorite at our house, especially when the kids were young and not in a hurry to get out of the house in the morning.
